Our Beauty and Style writer, Caitlyn, breaks down the best – and, of course, the worst – looks from the 2026 Golden Globes.

With the awards season drawing excitingly near, your favourite celebs are showing up to red carpets glammed up head to toe. Just a few weeks ago, the 83rd Annual Golden Globe Awards were held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel, a night celebrating astonishing achievements in television and film. Let’s take a glimpse back at the most glamorous looks of the night and explore hot takes on those that certainly garnered a few raised eyebrows.
Style Icons: Our Best Dressed Picks
Jennifer Lawrence

A stand-out of the evening was undoubtedly Jennifer Lawrence in her Givenchy sheer-fitting gown designed by Sarah Burton. The nude mesh dress was strategically embroidered with pale pink flowers and sage green leaves that bloomed over her body, a design inspired by Japanese florals. Lawrence also carried a pale pink satin stole that closely pays homage to silk garments. She opted for a hair-down look with simple, neutral makeup to avoid drawing attention away from the main attraction — her lavish dress. The gown creates a rather youthful, elegant feel, a stark contrast to her previous sleeker black-and-white looks that made her seem older and mature. To simply put: there’s no better way to announce her triumphant return to the fashion scene than this.
Teyana Taylor

To add, we mustn’t forget Teyana Taylor’s lovely Schiaparelli haute couture gown. She wore an asymmetrical cut-out bustier gown in draped black satin, enhanced with a scarf neckline and her ‘party in the back’ detail: a silver-rhinestone bow thong. The One Battle After Another actress’s playful and sexy addition played brilliantly into her personality. She was able to turn a classic black dress into a jaw-dropping sight to behold. Taylor’s makeup greatly complemented her overall look, with smokey black eyeshadow, sharply drawn eyebrows, and a perfect dark brown lip combo. Teyana Taylor never misses.
Connor Storrie and Hudson Williams

The Heated Rivalry duo ‘heated up’ the red carpet with their gorgeous, imaginative, tailored suits. The heartthrobs stood out among the men, choosing to go for more eccentric, avant-garde looks. Hudson Williams was dressed in a Giorgio Armani white blazer, accompanied by a satin buttoned-down shirt wrapped in a cummerbund. As for accessories, his look was complemented by an iconic Bvlgari Serpenti necklace and Louboutin red-bottom shoes. Connor Storrie was styled by Saint Laurent, wearing a black suit featuring a 1970s-inspired, relaxed silhouette, with perfectly cut trousers and a skinny tie. He was decked out in a Tiffany & Co. brooch, a diamond watch, and vintage small round sunglasses. Their classic yet nuanced looks caught the eyes of many, demonstrating that even male celebrities can achieve a polished look with intentional styling choices.
Kate Hudson

Kate Hudson’s gown was nothing short of dazzling. Her dress was by Giorgio Armani Privé, and her jewellery from Garatti. The draping at the bust and the lower half of the dress was done immaculately, creating that old, glamorous Hollywood touch with the glimmery silver. Hudson’s updo gave way for her beautiful silver earrings to be accentuated, and along with the Garatti ring and bracelet, the jewellery tied her entire look together. The Song, Sung, Blue actress genuinely looked like she had just stepped out of a romcom, as radiant as ever.
Fashion Fumbles: Our Worst Dressed Picks
Jennifer Lopez

While JLo’s controversial exchange with the ‘glambot guy’ stirred up some shock and buzzing gossip, her red carpet gown, in fact, failed to pique the interest of the media. The embroidery was tailored inadequately, particularly at the lower half, where the patterns were clumped together into a mesh of ill-suited brown. Her tight-fitting vintage Jean-Louis Scherrer dress was designed with a tinge too many features, including curved patterns and a dingy yellow tulle-flared tail. It may have been more successful with a simpler skirt. Furthermore, Lopez’s heavily contoured makeup did not make her skin glow as it should have, but essentially dimmed her look even further.
Amy Poehler

Amy Poehler may have won the Golden Globe award for Best Podcast that night, but she certainly did not win the Best Dressed. The most obvious fashion question mark here is the overly long trousers that trailed on the floor of the red carpet. It created a lazy, unfinished feel to the entire look. Although she has such a sweet smile, her minimal makeup and hair did not seem to elevate her look, and the dropped-sleeve, cropped t-shirt couldn’t be anything other than normal. The red clutch was quite gorgeous on its own, but it doesn’t exactly correlate with the casual look she was trying to go for.
Pamela Anderson

Recently, the legendary Pamela Anderson has chosen to embrace more natural looks at her public appearances and press engagements. However, it seems that this shift may not have resonated as well on the red carpet. Her Ferragamo two-piece look was a plain off-white colour, which unfortunately does not attract the eyes of audiences as successfully as jewelled-toned coloured gowns would. Due to the cotton material of her garments, creases and wrinkles were captured by many high-resolution cameras. The top office shirt did not fit her body particularly well, and the oddly-shaped cuffs were definitely an intriguing choice.
Beyond Glamour: How Celebrities Turned the Golden Globes into a Stage for Advocacy
On a more serious note, due to the recent ICE shootings in America, it is fitting to mention that a handful of celebrities utilised this public event as a chance to honour victims while also reminding the audience what it means to be good to one another in the face of horror and grief. Black-and-white pins displaying slogans like "BE GOOD" and "ICE OUT" were worn on blazers and dresses by Mark Ruffalo, Ariana Grande and many others during the event.

With thousands of people watching the live broadcast, it is clear that the message was brought forward. This proves that style and fashion can truly be mediums of activism, enabling individuals to voice their beliefs, be it subtly through minor fashion choices or as vividly as the pins were used. There is power in the way we dress ourselves, and it is up to us to decide how we want to be seen and what we aspire to convey. To some, the Golden Globes might have been a fun, wonderful night of dressing up and celebration, but for others, it was a golden opportunity to advocate for what they believe is right.
